Mkhitaryan speaks after first career hat-trick in Genoa scalp: “Last year I suffered injuries, now I’m showing my qualities.”

Roma were victorious this afternoon in Liguria as they defeated Rolando Maran’s Genoa side by a score of 3-1.

The Giallorossi, who were without striker Edin Dzeko, were led by attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan as the Armenian bagged the first hat-trick of his career.

“It was an important match for us,” said the former Arsenal man to DAZN.

“We made mistakes in the first half but thankfully we scored at the end of the half before going into the dressing room. I’m very pleased and I have to thank my teammates for this great match. We had some issues in the second half but we showed personality.”

“Dzeko? I talked to him before the match and he told me to score. We need him and I hope he’ll return soon. We’re a team and every player is important.”

“How does this season compare to last season for me? Last year I suffered two injuries, now I’m doing well and luckily I’ve been consistent. I think I’m showing the qualities that I have so I have to thank my teammates,” he concluded.
