RomaPress – The future of Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be in the Italian capital.
The Giallorossi announced that they reached a preliminary agreement with Arsenal to extend the Armenian’s stay until the end of the 2020/2021 campaign. In essence, though, Mkhitaryan’s time with the Gunners is already over.
Mino Raiola, the agent of Mkhitaryan, negotiated a contract rescission with the London-based side to terminate the attacker’s deal one year early.
The Giallorossi will effectively register the former Dortmund man as a “free transfer” and are expected to hand Raiola a sizable commission for the operation since they don’t have to pay a transfer fee.
Roma were initially hoping to acquire Mkhitaryan in a swap deal that would have seen Justin Kluivert join Arsenal, however, those negotiations never got off the ground as the Gunners weren’t interested in the Dutchman.
