Roma attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been one of the standouts during the first half of the Serie A campaign.

The Armenian has 7 goals and 6 assists in fourteen appearances so far after he completed a free transfer to the Giallorossi in the summer.

The attacker, who also spent last season at Roma but on loan, terminated his contract with Arsenal and rejoined Paulo Fonseca’s side for zero thanks to the work of his agent, Mino Raiola.

While his deal with Roma technically expires this June, Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo reports that Mkhitaryan has nearly achieved all of the required conditions that result in an automatic, one-year contract renewal until 2022.

The three conditions in the deal include a specified number of a goals scored, assists, and also require appearing in at least 50% of Roma’s games.

Thanks to his hot start, Mkhitaryan has already achieved the first two while the appearance requirement is merely a formality at this point: his deal will be extended to June 2022.
