RomaPress – Roma are growing optimistic that attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan will say ‘yes’ and agree to sign a new contract in order to remain at the club before tonight’s self-imposed deadline.
The Armenian possesses the option to accept or reject any contract renewal offered to him by Roma, however, he must do so by tonight —- otherwise, the Giallorossi will consider him a free agent.
Roma and Mkhitaryan’s entourage, who arrived in the Italian capital last week, have been holding talks over recent days, but the sides have yet to reach a definitive agreement. In addition, they agreed to make tonight the deadline for a final decision.
A breakthrough was made this evening and the Armenian’s representatives reached out to Roma to discuss additional details.
Although Mkhitaryan still hasn’t signed the new two-year contract, both sides are optimistic that an agreement will be reached shortly, with the last details being resolved in the coming days.
