Monchi would prefer Luis Enrique at Roma should Spalletti leave

Ansa: A farewell looks likely for Luciano Spalletti as a new possible destination has emerged for the Tuscan, Inter.

The club, who are owned by Chinese consortium Suning Holdings Group, initially wanted Conte and made him a huge offer, but he won’t leave Chelsea and they have aimed for Spalletti given that Stefano Pioli is a short term solution.

Names like Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini have been linked to Roma to replace Spalletti but Monchi, who is expected to be named the new sporting director at Roma, would like to aim for a foreign manager. Who? Unai Emery, should he be sacked by PSG, or Luis Enrique, the former Roma manager who is leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.
