Monchi set to leave Roma

John Solano

(RomaPress – Exclusive): After changing their manager, Roma will have to find a new sporting director. As learned exclusively by RomaPress, Ramon Monchi is set to quit Roma after the latest set of results and the sacking of Eusebio Di Francesco. The Spaniard has been under a lot of pressure this season and has been on the receiving end of many insults following his lacklustre summer transfer campaign. The latest episode of Di Francesco’s sacking was the final piece for Monchi to affirm his decision to leave the club. The ex-Sevilla director will not be in attendance at Roma-Empoli and will leave Roma in the coming hours as the sides discuss a resolution on the Spaniard’s contract.

23.50 CET – As learned by RomaPress, the next destination of the Spanish director will most likely be Arsenal. The English club have been tracking Monchi for months and it’s possible the sides reach an agreement not soon after the Spaniard’s contract situation with Roma is resolved. Meanwhile, Lille sporting director Luis Campos is being evaluated as a potential replacement for the Giallorossi.
