Despite Jose Mourinho personally endorsing him as a player to be relied upon in this new season – with the Special One saying “he’ll help us too” – Eldor Shomurodov continues to be linked with an exit from Roma only hours away from the transfer deadline.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, newly promoted Serie A side Monza will make a concrete last minute attempt for the Uzbek striker.
Monza’s executive, Adriano Galliani, plans on contacting Roma to inquire about Shomurodov. The Giallorossi, however, would only consider letting go of the 27-year-old striker for a considerable sum of money that would guarantee a permanent deal.
Given El Shaarawy’s recent injury, the Roma are hesitant in getting rid of Shomurodov after holding talks with Bologna and Torino over the course of the summer.
