Monza midfielder and skipper Matteo Pessina previewed this weekend’s Serie A fixture with Roma.
The Italian international spoke to Corriere dello Sport a few days ahead of the highly-anticipated match-up with Daniele De Rossi’s side.
“We always play to win, but sometimes even draws give continuity. The important thing is not to interrupt the positive streak we’re on,” said Pessina.
“Roma are in good shape, they can fight for a place in the Champions League. Saturday will be a good challenge for us too, of a very high level.”
“Beating a great team like Milan gave us excellent momentum and we hope to be able to replicate that performance with Roma.”
“De Rossi? I see a lot of myself in him because of his mentality: Daniele was an intelligent player, always with the aim of putting the team before everything. We are similar in this, and I really liked him when I saw him play as a child.”
