Monza’s latest signing, Papu Gomez, discussed his return to Serie A and the opportunity to face Mourinho’s Roma.
With only a few days remaining until the first match after the international break, Gomez spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport, briefly previewing Roma-Monza.
“The Serie A that I found this time around is more competitive than the one I left a few years ago,” said Gomez.
“Atalanta paved a way for many teams: I see coaches like Thiago Motta, Palladino, Gilardino, young and ambitious managers trying to come up with an interesting style of play.”
“I would like to help Monza grow. It’s an ambitious club that wants to grow step by step. First we must avoid relegation and then we can think about the rest.”
“Mourinho? I only have one memory of him and that is winning the Europa League with Sevilla against him a few months ago.”
