Monza midfielder Roberto Gagliardini discussed the challenge of facing former Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku in this weekend’s fixture.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Gagliardini – who is set to start for Palladino’s side on Sunday afternoon versus Roma – remarked, “I know Lukaku very well, and on a personal level I feel gratitude to him.”
“Regarding how he and Inter parted ways, I say that these things happen in football. Romelu has always made a difference everywhere: he is a champion and as such he must be respected. He was one of the leaders of the team which won the scudetto with Inter, played in two European finals and won other trophies,” he added.
“On Sunday we will have to try to contain him, because Lukaku has many ways of hurting you.”
