Roma manager Jose Mourinho spoke about the team failing to capitalize on the numerous chances created so far this season. The Portuguese manager also did not sound too happy about the injuries that have plagued his side since the start of this year’s campaign.
“The priority remains winning games,” he said. “And in order to win you need to score.”
“There are teams that don’t score because they fail to create scoring opportunities. With us it’s different: we create but we’re struggling.”
On Belotti replacing Abraham in Roma’s starting eleven, “Everyone trains well. I give opportunities to the limited roster in order to have fresh legs for the Europa League. In the last match Belotti played 15 minutes. If he doesn’t end up scoring he will still find ways to give the team space and help link up with others around him.”
Mourinho concluded by talking about Pellegrini, “Compared to Matic he is a completely different player. Lorenzo is more offensive, Matic is more about positioning, breaking up the play and Lorenzo creates the game.”
“In every game this season except for Inter we’ve missed someone due to injury,” he concluded.
