Jose Mourinho was interviewed by DAZN before Roma’s home game vs Empoli. The manager was asked about his choice to confirm Darboe in the starting line-up.
“Darboe is a good footballer. This is a long-term project. We don’t have squads like others that have many experienced players.”
“We need to make players. We have to play players like Darboe, Calafiori, Zalewski. It is a good opportunity to have them play.”
He added:
“Cristante has always played. He played 90 minutes last game. Today it is basically the starting team without Ibanez who has played all the games so far. The same with Cristante.”
