Roma continue their pursuit of Atalanta attacker Duvan Zapata.
The Columbian forward is currently Roma’s priority along with Marcos Leonardo of Santos.
In recent days, Zapata met with his entourage to discuss the prospect of joining Roma on a temporary deal as Roma count on signing him on loan with option to buy (this option could then turn into an obligation based on certain performance-related conditions).
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma head coach Jose Mourinho already spoke to Zapata and convinced him of his chances to feature in the team’s starting line-up.
Given Tammy Abraham’s injury, Zapata – together with Andrea Belotti – would be the only pure striker in Mourinho’s roster, thus granting him significant minutes across all competitions.
The player is now reflecting on his options. Roma are ready to offer him €3 million per season.
