Roma manager Jose Mourinho reacted to Roma’s 2-1 comeback win over Cremonese in the Coppa Italia earlier tonight.

In his post-match reaction with Sportmediaset, the Special One commented on the team’s performance.

“We have done well enough not to suffer like this. As a team, we all go to the limit. No team in Italy has won a match without a single central defender on the pitch, it’s not easy. We are united and always give our best.”

“The risk is obvious. When you take risks, if you concede the second goal you’re practically out. We had Llorente and Celik booked. Cristante and Kristensen are not central defenders even if the Dane has the physicality to take on their players. I trusted Kristensen’s speed.”

“We put more attackers on and Paulo to create more chances. Azmoun played behind Romelu, then Spinazzola entered with El Shaarawy playing more central.”

“Tonight we deservedly won,” he added.

“Lazio? I don’t know how we will approach this match. We have a very important match on Sunday against Atalanta and this is who we are. We are united and we give everything. If Lukaku has to play central defender he will. We go with everything we have, with respect for the club and the fans.”

“Let’s see how we get to the derby but first there is Atalanta. Azmoun leaves next week and Mancini is injured. Paredes, Mancini and Cristante are within a booking of a suspension. I don’t know how we get to Lazio and Milan but we certainly do it with everything we have and with all the respect that the club and the fans deserve.”
