Jose Mourinho sounded particularly concerned about Zeki Celik’s status after the Turkish international was forced to exit last night’s Europa League affair with Betis less than minutes into the game. Initial diagnosis indicated a knee sprain that might sideline the fullback for a lengthy period of time.
“From my experience, I expect bad news from the infirmary,” Mourinho said in his post-match press conference when asked about Celik’s condition.
“In two days we have another match in the league with Lecce, then we’ll think about Betis again.”
“We are in a situation where thinking of finishing first is not a goal anymore, the goal is to finish second and if we can’t finish second, finish third.”
