Roma boss Jose Mourinho expressed in his confidence in the team’s ability to overturn the result in tomorrow’s return leg with Feyenoord.
During today’s pre-match press conference, Mourinho discussed the team’s attitude heading into tomorrow night as well as Paulo Dybala’s status for the match.
“We are said to be a defensive team and yet we have hit the woodwork 27 times this season… A bit contradictory, don’t you think?” Mourinho said.
“I don’t mean we’re unlucky, we have to be better and more efficient in capitalizing our chances. For me it still means that we create a lot but with Feyenoord ahead by one we have to score at all costs.”
“Dybala? I honestly don’t know whether he’ll be able to play tomorrow. We decided to give Paulo another 24 hours to figure out if he can make it or not. Tomorrow morning we will do a few intense exercises to see if he plays.”
“Bove and Llorente? Bove needs to grow, he’s young but has already played a few games as a starter. Llorente is different, he already has great experience at a high level. It took him time to figure out how to play with us, and now he seems perfectly integrated to me.”
“They are two more options for us and they are important, there are eight league games left plus tomorrow’s and they can increase in a short time. Impossible to always play with the same ones so they’ll have their chances before the end of the season.”
“We are confident for tomorrow,” he continued. “We know our home crowd can’t wait for us to play. And they’ll play with us by singing and waving the flags. I believe in my players and my stadium. I respect Feyenoord, but I believe we can do it.”
