Roma manager Jose Mourinho cited the Coppa Italia as a concrete objective for the Giallorossi following their recent victory with Genoa.
According to the Portuguese technician, Roma will fight for the trophy as long as they can manage to compete on three fronts at once.
“I would love to win it, I won it once playing against Roma, I would like to win it playing for Roma in Rome,” Mourinho told reporters after the game on Thursday night.
“For a squad like ours, playing three competitions at the same time is very tough because you have to find a way to rely on your quality players for every game. It is a great risk to use 3-4 players who rarely play or to have several younger players on the pitch at the same time, I could have put Bove and Tahirovic in the midfield but I didn’t. I opted to use Matic alongside Edo.”
