Jose Mourinho was asked by Roma TV to share his thoughts on tonight’s first leg of the Europa League knockout round with Salzburg.
The Portuguese technician noted the importance of the travelling fans in pushing the team to give their best later tonight.
“I always expect us to play with the same attitude of the last few games. The few times we failed to show this attitude I’m talking about I was surprised because it’s very unusual for us.”
“We may have our limits, but the mindset is almost always very positive. We know the difficulties of the match, but also that it’s only the first leg in Salzburg and there’s also a second leg to be played at home.”
“The fans? We’ve missed them. We have already played three Serie A away games without them and it’s obviously not the same. In Europe we are used to having them with us, even in the worst moment in Bodo they were there, cheering us on. And in all the things we’ve done to win the Conference and get to this point in the Europa League they’ve always been there, obviously this pleases us immensely.”
