Roma boss Jose Mourinho sounded unphased by the heated atmosphere of Feyenoord’s de Kuip for tomorrow night.
The Portuguese technician spoke to Sky Sport ahead of Thursday’s fixture in Europa League quarterfinals.
“I like playing in this environment. What happens on the street or outside is obviously different, and if people can’t come because of it then that’s just sad, but I like such an atmosphere on the pitch.”
“I like it the same way I like to play at home with the whole stadium behind us. I like playing away from home in a hostile environment. It’s also important for players because there’s a chance to demonstrate personality and maturity by playing without problems in front of a hostile crowd. It’s a UEFA competition, so surely there will be referees prepared for a match of this level.”
“Feyenoord? i don’t compare them with last year’s version. I completely forgot about them since then. We are talking about a team that has done well in Europe and are about to win the league at home.”
“Roma is a team of humble people, the first one to be humble is the coach, who analyzes the opponents with respect and professionalism. We all analyze the opponent well and try to figure out which formation is better. In the last match we played without Abraham and Belotti, but maybe tomorrow we will play with both of them up front.”
