Jose Mourinho left Roma’s training facilities for the last time this afternoon.
The Portuguese technician was sacked in the early hours of the morning after a meeting with Roma President Dan Friedkin who felt the team’s performances this season had been unacceptable.
Mourinho and his staff regrouped at Trigoria today to empty their lockers and offices and make way for Daniele De Rossi who is expected to take over managerial duties until the end of the season.
As he was leaving Trigoria, Mourinho was greeted by around 50 supporters who gathered to thank him for this work at the club.
Mourinho appeared to be emotional as he told the fans: “Thank you for these last two years.”
