Jose Mourinho is being eyed as Fernando Santos’ successor for Portugal’s managerial vacancy.
Sources in Portugal claim that there has been direct contact between the Special One’s entourage and the Portuguese federation.
Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Fernando Gomes, head of the federation, a few days ago, claims A Bola.
As a result of this meeting, Mourinho is currently taking his time to evaluate the proposal from Portugal and has yet to give a definite answer to Gomes.
Roma are intent on keeping Mourinho beyond this season until the expiry of his contract and have refused to comment on Portugal’s interest.
