Jose Mourinho’s Roma have been linked with another name to strengthen their defense.

The capital club continue to search for a suitable replacement of Chris Smalling who is out indefinitely with a chronic knee injury.

As a result, caciomercato.com reports that the Giallorossi have set their sights on Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno.

One of the rising talents in Italian football, Buongiorno is said to have caught the attention of Roma head coach Jose Mourinho who’s instructed the capital club to pursue the 24-year-old centreback.

Torino are unlikely to consider any offers for Buongiorno in January, but the defender could become a concrete objective for Roma ahead of next season.
