Roma remain very active on the transfer market as they prepare to face Juventus this weekend.
According to Corriere dello Sport, manager Josè Mourinho is asking for two reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in January: a midfielder and a fullback.
The Portuguese technician wants to bring a midfielder who can rotate with Jordan Veretout and Bryan Cristante at the heart of his 4-2-3-1 formation. The favorite, who has been linked to the Giallorossi since July, is Denis Zakaria of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The Swiss international’s deal expires this summer and there’s very few signs that he’s willing to remain with the German side. As a result, Roma will look to take advantage of the situation in January by offering €5-€6 million plus a sell-on clause for the Zakaria.
Meanwhile, Mourinho also hopes to acquire an experienced fullback to provide cover for Rick Karsdorp.
