Roma manager Jose Mourinho praised his players for their impressive performance at home with Real Sociedad.
The Portuguese technician gave them credit in his post-match appearance with Roma TV.
“Credit to the players,” said the Special One. “We were very well organized and showed a strong mentality and huge respect for our opponents.”
“We have so much respect for this knockout competition in which the small details can make a big difference. At half-time I said, ‘we’re 1-0 up, there’s enormous difference between 2-0 and 1-1.’ I think the players got it and made sacrifices in the second half while being well organized.”
