Mourinho: “I’m never happy with a loss, but the team has shown signs of growth.”

After the final whistle at the San Siro, José Mourinho recognised the team’s limitations as well as acknowledged its development in the latest defeat to Inter.

“Tonight’s result may look similar to the one from two months ago in the Coppa Italia,” he said in the post-match press conference. “But today we know how to play and what to do on the pitch.

“If Mancini scores, who knows, perhaps we’re talking about a different outcome.”

“Today we lost a bit of what made us a growing team, we lacked the same structure from previous games.”

“I’m never happy with a loss but the team has shown signs of growth. I’m also happy with the referee.”
