Roma intend to accelerate the signing of free agent Andrea Belotti with several reports claiming that the striker’s move to the capital could take place as soon as within the next 48 hours.

According to Il Messaggero, Jose Mourinho has personally called the former Torino captain and the two have been in touch over recent weeks as Roma continue to work on numerous outgoing transfers that have in part prevented the club from being able to sign Belotti in the first place.

The player has also been in contact with fellow Italy teammate Lorenzo Pellegrini and ex-Palermo teammate Paulo Dybala. Both Roma players have been pushing Belotti in the capital’s direction.

In the meantime, Belotti has rejected all approaches from abroad including Nice, Galatasaray, Wolverhampton and Southampton.
