Mourinho interested in Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos

It’s no secret that Roma boss José Mourinho is desperate for midfield reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in January.

The former United manager recently lamented the Giallorossi’s lack of depth in several key areas, including the middle of the park.

According to El Nacional in Spain, one of the players that the Portuguese tactician is interested in acquiring is Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The 25 year-old is recovering from a serious ankle injury suffered in August during the Olympics.

Ceballos is in the final phase of his rehabilitation, however, he fears his playing time under manager Carlo Ancelotti will be sparse, which is why he’s pondering the possibility of leaving the club in January.

Several clubs are keen on Ceballos, including his former team Real Betis. However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side aren’t willing to pay the €20 million requested by Los Blancos, which is where Roma enters the picture.

Mourinho likes the former Arsenal man and is willing to hand him an important role within the team should he move to the Italian capital.
