Although technically still in quarantine, José Mourinho will spend the next five days getting to know Trigoria with a mask on while maintaining social distancing. The Special One and his staff want to prepare themselves in advance for the start of pre-season. In order to do this, they will spend the next five days getting acquainted with the personnel and the daily staff working at Roma’s training center.
Additionally, Roma’s new manager will get the chance to meet with some of the players. Yesterday, for example, Corriere Della Sera reports that Mourinho had the chance to finally meet the likes of Zaniolo, with whom he’d exchanged numerous messages and calls prior to his arrival, as well as the club’s captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini and two players he already happened to coach at Manchester United: Mkhitaryan and Smalling. Kumbulla and Reynolds, both hard at work over this past week, also had their chance to bump fists with The Special One. Later on in the day, Guido Fienga, Roma’s CEO, spoke with Mourinho.
Throughout the beginning to his Roma adventure, the Portuguese coach is being closely followed by Dan Friedkin’s film production crew as they are making a short documentary on the Giallorossi’s latest managerial appointment.
