Former Roma manager Jose Mourinho expressed his disappointment regarding the penalty given to Lille which led to Fenerbahce’s elimination from Champions League.

Last night the Special One, after the elimination from the Champions League preliminaries and the consequent relegation to the Europa League, mentioned Roma’s defeat in the Europa League final when addressing his team’s chances in the competition.

“One team deserved to win and the other went ahead, we hit two posts and had many opportunities,” said Mourinho.

“Only the referee and the VAR know why they awarded that penalty. We can do well in the Europa League, but if… That’s all I’ll say, to complete the sentence, go and watch the Roma-Sevilla final again.”
