Roma boss Jose Mourinho spoke very highly of his first year managing the Giallorossi as he led the club to their first trophy in fourteen years.
“I love the club, and I love the city because the people there love me,” he told Mais Futebol.
“I like being there because I’ve been able to build a great relationship based on empathy with people inside and outside the club.”
“I like being there, nobody has lied to me, nobody tried to trick me, nobody made me promises of huge investments with lots of zeroes,” he continued.
“So far every promise that was made to me has been kept. I hope that in the remaining two years on my contract, the promises will continue to be kept and allow us to evolve.”
“Not in the direction of trophies of winning this or that, but in the direction of making Roma a bigger club and bringing them closer to those who win more often in Italy. I’m there because I like it and it’s important to be in a place you like.”
