Jose Mourinho took a slight dig at Lazio and their director Igli Tare following the Biancocelesti’s drop the Conference League earlier this evening as a result of Maurizio Sarri’s loss to Feyenoord.
In his post-match press conference to Roma-Ludogorets, Mourinho claimed Lazio were now favorites to win the Conference League.
“I think Lazio have now become the favorites to win the Conference League. I say this with honesty.”
“There’s West Ham, Leicester, Fiorentina, Lazio and who else? Villarreal?”
“Lazio have the coach, the players, and the team to do it. Maybe the problem is that they have Mr. Tare who doesn’t want to win it because he doesn’t like this competition,” he said, referring to Lazio director Igli Tare’s comments about the Conference League being a “loser’s competition.”
