Following last night’s victory against Zorya Luhansk, Jose Mourinho took the opportunity to praise some of his players during the post-match press conference.
The Special One said of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, “I explained to him: this is your role. He’s not an attacker. He cannot play as a wing-back. Today he played another great game.”
However, the highest praise went in Rick Karsdorp’s direction.
“Rick today gave us yet another incredible performance.”
He continued, “Now I want to see his stats, the number of kilometers he covered today and his intensity. I am always amazed when I read his statistics.”
“Soon we’ll have to find a way to rest him a bit, like I did with Ibanez or Smalling who didn’t have the full 90 minutes in him.”
Roma want to secure a back-up to Karsdorp in January given the Dutchman’s immense work-rate across all competitions.
