Mourinho praises Roma’s heroics despite Inter defeat

Jose Mourinho once again praised his men for meeting the moment despite being faced with fatigue and injuries.

The Portuguese technician did not criticise anyone from the team in his post-match comments. Instead, he singled out a few performances from today’s defeat at Stadio Olimpico.

“When I arrived Bove was going on loan to Triestina, today he plays against Milan and against Inter,” Mourinho told reporters after the final whistle. “When I see his evolution, it’s an extraordinary thing for me.”

“I can only speak well of my players. This is a group that is dead tired. It’s a group of lads that are not feeling well, who are not resting, who play in positions they are not used to.”

“I look at the players who ask me for a change and I tell them, it’s either them who play or me. Belotti is a hero to me, there aren’t many players who will go out and play hard in his condition.”

“Paulo [Dybala] only has one leg for the time being, Zalewski and Spinazzola have difficulty playing so many games in a row.”

“Maybe it’s just a new moment in my career. In the past, when I lost a game it was hard for me to accept it, I used to analyze the game with great aggression, I was obsessed with it. Now I look at the boys with tenderness and respect.”
