Jose Mourinho shared his thoughts on Thursday’s Conference League match against Bodo/Glimt in a press conference earlier today.
“We have 6 points, we are in a good situation… if we forget Bodo’s result. 6 points with two games left to play at home, the situation is good. We cannot say that tomorrow is decisive. We want to finish first in the group and win tomorrow.”
On whether he’s willing to give a chance to the players excluded following the humiliating 6-1 defeat to Bodo:
“We all got it wrong. I do not want to put the blame on this player or that player.”
“We lost as a team and tomorrow we want to win as a team. Obviously the same team will not play tomorrow. I was afraid of everything, of the field, of tiredness etc. I was wrong, we were all wrong.”
On Abraham’s recent form:
“He comes from a different football culture, refereeing culture, even a social one. It is never easy. His time here started off pretty well, he made a positive impact. Now he is living a so-so moment. He is a great player and we have faith in him.”
“There is no problem, he will play better, he will score.”
On Zaniolo:
“Two years later, the injuries are not easy. Against Juventus he felt a little fear that is normal when a player who has suffered so much. It is normal to have these fears and only time helps to forget.”
“Physically he is fine, he is very strong. There are tactical details to improve, to learn and it is normal. He’s a professional who likes to work. I’m satisfied.”
On whether he still has faith in players like Shomurodov:
“I have faith in everyone, however, there are moments where the players are not in the best moment, especially in terms of level of confidence.”
“Felix is a player who won’t be on the list tomorrow, but he has qualities that we don’t have. He looks for movements that we don’t do as much. We are a team with many players who want the ball at their feet. He is very far from an accomplished player, he is far from being a starter in a team like Roma. He has a profile that deserves to be worked on and to have opportunities to play in the first team. It is very good for him to train with us.”
“Trust in Mayoral and Shomurodov does not change. I trust them.”
