After Nemanja Matić and Mile Svilar, Roma are ready to secure their third summer signing with Lille’s Zeki Çelik.
In fact, Jose Mourinho himself has asked the club – led by General Manager Tiago Pinto – to prioritize the signing of the Turkish international who will act as a valuable back-up option to Rick Karsdorp.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Roma are still negotiating with Lille the fee for the 25-year-old fullback.
The capital club are confident in a positive outcome to the deal and are expected to advance a second offer of around €7 million.
Lille’s initial price-tag for the player was of €9 million, but there is a belief that the gap will be narrowed over these next few days.
