Legendary Giallorossi captain Francesco Totti is being rumored with a potential surprise return to Roma.
Totti – who left the capital club almost four years ago after a brief stint in Roma’s management under former sporting director Ramon Monchi – is being linked with a return to the Giallorossi on Mourinho’s request.
The Special One in fact has been very vocal about needing an additional member of the management whose duty is to handle public relations and mediate between officials and the team, handling difficult situations that would have otherwise forced Mourinho to be in the media’s spotlight.
According to Il Tempo, Roma have considered Mourinho’s request and are evaluating different names for the position. The club are seeking a recognizable name with a distinct past at the club.
Thus, the Giallorossi are reportedly looking at Totti – Mourinho’s first choice for the role – who is currently in charge of his own agency.
Totti is said to be eagerly waiting for a call from the Friedkins and would be excited at the prospect of returning to the club he represented on the pitch for twenty-five years.
