Benjamin Tahirovic made a surprise appearance from the start in last night’s victory over Bologna.
The ex-Primavera player – who was recently promoted to the first team and regularly integrated with the rest of Mourinho’s men – is now considered a crucial presence in the midfield going forward.
According to La Repubblica, the Special One has formed a very close bond with Tahirovic, whom he praised on several occasions prior to his senior debut. Mourinho considers the young midfielder an exciting prospect for the club.
The 19-year-old represents a valid alternative to either Bryan Cristante, Nemanja Matic and Mady Camara, and was able to instill a sense of order in the middle of the pitch yesterday as well as in his Serie A debut with Torino before the international break.
