Jose Mourinho was very critical of his team following their 2-0 defeat to Slavia Praha.
The Giallorossi had the chance to finish first in their Europa League group, but let themselves be dominated by Slavia.
In his post-match presser, Mourinho did not mince words and questioned his team’s attitude ahead of the Derby della Capitale with Lazio.
“It’s impossible for anyone to feel the importance of this club and this city more than me. Even if you were born at Trigoria, I will still be the first one to feel the weight of the derby. So no, the players were not paying more attention to the derby tonight.”
“Besides the fact that Rome is special for me, the way I work makes it impossible for them to feel the derby more than me. What is possible is that some of them do not have the same level of professionalism that I have. The most important match was today. And we squandered it.”
“We lost all the duels, the defenders looked like they were the opposing team’s attackers, it’s not possible. I’m super sorry,” he added. “Even if we won the derby I won’t forget this defeat today. I lost the game in a horrible way. It’s my fault.”
