Jose Mourinho has been reportedly approached by Portugal following their recent elimination from the World Cup in Qatar.
According to many Portuguese sources, the Special One continues to be the favorite to replace Fernando Santos.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Mourinho is not keen on combining both club and country coaching duties and has thus refused the Portuguese federation’s approach for now.
The technician remains focused on his spell at Roma, where he has a contract valid until 2024. Talks with Portugal could be postponed until the summer, but the Friedkins have made it clear: any team interested in Mourinho will have to cover a buyout clause to anticipate Mourinho’s contract expiry date.
