Mourinho reiterates willingness to remain at Roma: “I love it here.”

Jose Mourinho reaffirmed his stance of wanting to continue working in the Italian capital on the latest episode of The Obi Mikel Podcast.

In an interview with his close friend and former Chelsea and Real Madrid player, Obi Mikel, Jose Mourinho was asked about his current situation at Roma.

“Now I’m at Roma, it’s a different profile to Chelsea where I was, with different ambitions, but I like it a lot. I love being here in Rome. But I’m at the end of my contract. In this situation it is a choice that is up to the club. You sit down and talk about it, or you don’t.”

“In the meantime, I focus on the present, on giving everything. It’s a beautiful club with beautiful people. The players are not the best in the world, but they are good players and good guys. The fans are incredible, the city is wonderful. We have our ambitions, there are teams with more potential. But we fight. We like being together and when you like being together and not just working together it means you are in the right place.”

“A few days ago I spoke to a player who asked me what he could do to play more, I replied ‘nothing, you’re doing everything right. In training you do very well, on the bench I see you are with the team, when you come in you do your duty. But if we want to be a better team we must have excellent resources on the bench too.”
