Following tonight’s win over Fiorentina, Jose Mourinho took the time to address recent speculations regarding Gini Wijnaldum’s recovery and potential return to the field.
“With regards to Wijnaldum, I would say that sometimes the club’s press office posts photos that could mislead you, they post shots of training where he is with the group but that’s just more for his enjoyment in order to feel part of the group.”
“In reality he cannot fully train with us yet. He has to be clinically sound, then we can start thinking about when he’ll be back. The photos you see from Instagram or elsewhere are simple shots taken during training.”
