Jose Mourinho addressed the questionable status of Chris Smalling and Lorenzo Pellegrini ahead of the match against Genoa.
Following last night’s disappointing draw with Torino, Jose Mourinho spoke about two key players for Roma in his post-match press conference.
“I’m not too optimistic about Smalling,” he commented. “I don’t know if he will be able to play on Wednesday or Sunday.”
On Roma’s captain, Mourinho said, “Pellegrini featured in one training session all week long. We travelled to Moldova on Wednesday, played on Thursday and got back to Trigoria on Friday. Pellegrini was included in Saturday’s training, but that’s it.”
“It would have been too risky to have him play tonight. He’s still lacking intensity and needs to train as much as possible.”
