Mourinho: “I want to win the Conference League.”

Roma manager José Mourinho spoke to the media in today’s media-friendly training session.

The Portuguese technician addressed the upcoming Conference League final.

“It’s always the same for me, it doesn’t change,” he said when asked about the anticipation leading to the final.

“Although the history and prestige of competitions is different, this is the most important to me.”

“I’ve already played the others, this one has yet to be played and I want to win it.”

On his first season at the club, Mourinho commented, “I think about the journey undertaken in Europe, we will get to 15 games.”

“We started in August, we travelled a lot, playing difficult games, especially on the road. Then the emotion of the knockout phase, then there were consequences in Serie A. Playing in Europe and then playing in the league almost always against teams that we prepared in a week means paying in points.”

“Looking at the ranking, I immediately review Thursday’s matches and the refereeing errors. This competition was tough, if you have compensation by winning a trophy and making history then that’s great. But you have to win it.”

On Feyenoord having longer preparation before the final, “It’s not a small advantage, but a big advantage.”

“We have to face Torino and it’s an important game, difficult to let everyone rest. They will have an extra week with the retreat in Portugal, but a final is coming and we must forget the small problems.”

“It’s a unique game and we must forget about this advantage. If you ask me the question before the 25th, I will answer that the Feyenoord has no advantage.”
