Mourinho summarizes Roma’s season opening: “We have grown a lot.”

Roma boss Jose Mourinho sat down with Fox Sports to preview tonight’s Europa League affair with Real Betis as the Giallorossi look to climb to the top of their group.

“For them to be able to win Copa del Rey… we’re talking about Real Betis, not Real Madrid or Barcelona, or Atletico… that says a lot about them,” Mourinho said of tonight’s opponent.

“Manuel Pellegrini is a coach that knows how to win and has won in his career. He’s got experienced players, most of them play for their respective national teams.”

When asked about Roma’s own journey so far this season, Mourinho praised his side. “We have grown a lot this year. We’ve played extremely well against top teams in the league like Juventus and Inter.”

“We’ve played with a level of confidence which we lacked last season.”

On Dybala, Mourinho remarked, “Argentina have plenty of attacking options, but Dybala for me is one of the best players in the world.”

“He’s taken on the responsibility to be an important player for Roma. He’s got this confidence about him that only world class players have.”
