Mourinho to continue relying on Roma’s youth players

Jose Mourinho has played an important role in the development of Roma’s youth sector since being appointed manager of the Giallorossi.

The Portuguese technician – despite some initial objections – has steadily utilized and promoted several Primavera players to support the first team across all competitions. over the past year, Mourinho has given an opportunity to Zalewski, Felix, Missori, Bove, Faticanti, Tripi, Volpato and Tahirovic.


Now, Corriere della Sera reports that the Special One is expected to continue fielding youngsters and involving them in Roma’s Serie A and Europa League campaign. The next few names on his list include Cassano, Cherubini, Oliveras and Majchrzak.

Mourinho’s reliance on younger players has given Roma an added resource for the season, with the likes of Nicola Zalewski, Edoardo Bove and Benjamin Tahirovic playing a significant role in the opening stages of the second half of this season.
