The financial details of Roma’s shocking appointment of manager José Mourinho are beginning to leak.
Sky Sport reports that the “Special One” will sign a three-year contract worth €7.5 million (net) plus bonuses per season.
While significantly less than the €16 million he earned at Tottenham, Mourinho will be able to take advantage of a favorable tax law in Italy known as the “Growth Decree”.
This 50% tax cut applies to individuals that have lived outside of Italy for the previous three years but move to the country as their primary residence for at least 24 months.
It’s an advantagous regulation that has benefitted several clubs, including Inter when they acquired Alexis Sanchez.
