Andy Mattioli

Jose Mourinho continues being the primary name to replace Fernando Santos as Portugal’s coach.

The latest reports from Portugal claim the Special One is set to meet with the Portuguese federation in the coming days.

According to A Bola, once Roma conclude their training camp in Algarve, the Portuguese technician will stay behind and celebrate Christmas with his relatives. Following the celebrations, Mourinho is scheduled to meet with Fernando Gomes – the head of the federation – on 26 December.

The two will assess the situation regarding the managerial vacancy and make a decision for the future, before then returning to Italy to resume Roma’s campaign. Mourinho’s contract with the Giallorossi expires in 2024.
