Mourinho to start El Shaarawy again in Napoli showdown

Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of Stephan El Shaarawy’s work ethic and knows he can rely on him whenever the team requires his presence on the field.

El Shaarawy’s most recent outing with Spezia proved successful: the Italian winger replaced Nicolo Zaniolo in the attacking trio alongside Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham.

Now, Corriere della Sera reports that El Shaarawy is favored to start once more in the upcoming big match against Napoli.

If Lorenzo Pellegrini – who is recovering from a calf injury – won’t be able to return to Sunday’s starting eleven, El Shaarawy would feature in Roma’s attacking front three.

Otherwise, with Pellegrini on the pitch, Mourinho would likely rely on El Shaarawy as leftback with Nicola Zalewski taking Zeki Celik’s place on the right wing.
