Mourinho to steadily increase Edoardo Bove’s minutes

Andy Mattioli

Edoardo Bove’s development at Roma progresses at a slower pace than some might have expected given that the former Primavera midfielder was heavily linked with several Italian clubs in the summer, but ultimately Roma chose to keep him at Mourinho’s disposal.

So far this season Bove hasn’t seen too much playing time given the abundant usage of the likes of Nemanja Matic and Bryan Cristante to hold Roma’s midfield.

However, Corriere dello Sport reports that Mourinho is expected to steadily increase the 20-year-old’s minutes in the next few months. Bove already featured in two games in a row with Ludogorets and Empoli.

With the arrival of Mady Camara, the Special One will get to choose suitable alternatives to Cristante and Matic, especially given Wijnaldum’s absence and Roma’s intense schedule following the international break.
