Jose Mourinho is likely to make use of Rasmus Kristensen’s physicality as Roma face a short list of defenders.

In Roma’s recent win over Cremonese, Kristensen was brought on in the second half and utilized as a centre-back in a three man defense with Bryan Cristante and Rick Karsdorp.

The unorthodox use of Kristensen’s physical build helped give Roma stability as the Giallorossi were down 0-1 and in need of a goal while also controlling Cremonese’s counter-attacks.

In his post-match presser, Mourinho paid special tribute to Kristensen’s performance and sense of sacrifice for the team.

According to Corriere della Sera, Mourinho is determined to work more closely with Kristensen in training and utilize him as a centre-back with more frequency in the coming weeks.

This will also allow Mourinho to soften the absence of the likes of Smalling, Kumbulla and Ndicka for the next few weeks.
